WordPress 3.0 (Thelonious) was released last week. At first pass I didn’t notice much of a difference. You might think that too if your current WordPress theme is overriding some of the new features or if you don’t know about a needed code change.

The latest version of WordPress makes it a lot easier to customize a theme with a drag and drop tool in the Appearance panel. Unfortunately, I don’t see that option available in my installation. That’s because my current theme called Thesis is overriding the standard WordPress setup. I’ll have to wait on an update from the folks that make the Thesis theme I use. Check to see if you’re having the same issue with your theme.

WordPress 3.0 allows you to manage multiple blogs from one install, but there’s no setting to enable this feature. You’ll have to modify a file to get the feature working. Click here to learn about the multi site option in WordPress 3.0.
